Welcome to the official site of the Electronic Music Foundation of America (ELMFA), a 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to teach, preserve, and enjoy the legacy of electronic music from the Untied States and around the world.

No matter what the genre of electronic music, ELMFA is dedicated to education related to the artists, styles, methods, and equipment used to create and produce electronic music. Since 2015, we have striven to educate students, synth enthusiasts, and the general public about the artists, genres, and equipment used to make, perform, and produce this beloved style of music.

From oscillators and filters to reel to reel recorders to DIY synthesizers and modded electronic toys to full-blown modular rigs, the methods and sounds available to the electronic artist have never been so diverse, easily available and, in some cases, affordable. An increasing number of unique and interesting synths, samplers, groove boxes, drum machines, production work stations, effects box, and modular components have burst onto the scene in recent years. Coupled with home-made and vintage equipment, the possibilities are nearly endless.
